Seagull Pulls Off Daring Snack Aisle Robbery at Local Shop
Harper Kelly

Calling someone a "birdbrain" is usually meant as an insult, suggesting a lack of intelligence. Yet birds are far from simple-minded. In fact, some of them display a level of cunning that would put a seasoned thief to shame.
Consider the gull featured in the clip below. This bird executes what can only be described as a flawless burglary. When a creature with a brain the size of a walnut can carry out such a precise operation, perhaps humans have something to learn from our feathered friends.
Much like any seasoned lawbreaker, this gull showed remarkable composure as it closed in on its destination: a convenience store, and more specifically, the snack section within it.
Without a hint of hesitation, the bird strode through the entrance, focused entirely on one thing — a bag of peanuts. It was well aware that the automatic doors would slide open upon its approach. After all, it had thoroughly scouted the location while devising its plan for this audacious raid.
Once inside, the doors shut behind it, but the gull remained unfazed. It understood the doors would part again the moment it drew near. Staying calm was essential, and the bird did exactly that.
It created no disturbance inside the shop, which would almost certainly have caught the attention of employees and ruined the scheme. Instead, the gull stayed composed, zeroed in on the peanuts, and then exited with its loot as if this were second nature.
Out in the parking area, the daring bird wasted no time enjoying its reward. It had certainly earned every bite!
Are Peanuts Safe for Birds to Eat?
The majority of birds are quite fond of peanuts. These nuts can serve as a beneficial supplemental food for pet birds. As with most things, though, moderation matters.
Peanuts provide protein, fat, and other valuable nutrients, but if they make up a bird's entire diet, that becomes problematic, since the bird would not be receiving balanced nutrition.
Whether raw or roasted, peanuts can be excellent treats for birds provided they are free of salt and flavorings. The same goes for natural peanut butter that contains no added salt.
