Piglet the Foster Pittie Warms Up to His New Home Thanks to a Floor Vent
Riley Howard

Dogs thrive on routine, yet they never fail to surprise the people who care for them. From rolling in mud during a walk to waking the whole house at odd hours for no clear reason, they have a talent for making daily life both unpredictable and endearing.
Take Piglet, a foster Pit Bull who is only weeks old. Even at that age, he manages to impress his foster family regularly. On an especially cold January 28, the little puppy delighted his caretakers by discovering the heating vent for the first time and settling down there for a nap. Curling up on a vent is practically a tradition among Pit Bulls, and this young dog worked it out for himself remarkably early.
That is one clever puppy. Piglet clearly knows what he is after — warmth and comfort — and he goes straight for it without hesitation. At just a few months old, he already carries himself with a striking amount of confidence.
It is obvious he feels at ease in his foster home, alongside his humans and @we.three.pitties, given how freely he explores and makes himself comfortable. That kind of environment is exactly what every rescue puppy needs, particularly at such a tender age.
“All baked potatoes know where to find the baking spots,” wrote @all_but_dissertation in a comment. That description fits perfectly. Most Pit Bulls are drawn to sources of heat, particularly during winter, yet nobody taught this puppy how to find one — he simply figured it out.
Pajamas for a Puppy
A number of commenters urged this dog mom to dress her foster puppy in something warm, but one experienced Pittie owner pointed out that clothing would not change much. She shared a photo of her own dog in a sweater, curled up next to the fireplace, and remarked, “It wouldn’t matter if he had clothes. Pitties just love a heat source.”
Piglet’s foster parents had already tried putting him in pajamas once, and they gave it one more attempt to help him stay cozy. He remains unimpressed.
However cute the baby looks in pajamas, he is plainly happier without them. Fortunately, he located the heating vent as an alternative way to stay warm.
Piglet’s personality is already coming through strongly, and he is only a few weeks old. Given the affection, warmth, and happiness he is receiving in his foster home, he seems set to grow into a well-mannered and cheerful dog.
