This Labrador Retriever Is Surprisingly Good at Uno, and the Internet Can't Believe It

Some clips are so wild that you have to watch them yourself to accept them, and footage of a Labrador Retriever named Dunkin matching wits with his owner, Haley, in a round of Uno falls squarely into that category. After seeing it, plenty of us are left wondering how on earth she managed to train him to do this at all.

In the video, Dunkin squares off against his mom in a heated Uno match, and he appears to know which cards are worth selecting. The audio includes language that isn't workplace-friendly, but her enthusiasm over the game is easy to understand, since the whole thing is genuinely startling to watch.

Haley offered more context in the caption. “I’m scared because this game kinda felt like he evolved. I can’t explain it…”

A Commenter Voices Exactly What Everyone Else Is Thinking

It didn't take long for Haley's clip to go viral, collecting over 4.7 million views and close to 4,000 comments. One user, @lucacavello420, racked up more than 183,000 likes by putting the shared bafflement into words: “How the f*ck can he do this?!” Haley never responded, but someone else jumped in. “Dogs have pretty good pattern recognition. Literally like teaching a toddler that also happens to be color blind.”

@Birch Bear Holistic Care drew laughs with, “You really never know what’s going on inside of people’s homes…”

“You saw his cards and still lost!” wrote @lmitha, a remark that earned 52,000 likes.

@The Lit Channel quipped, “Sorry I’m busy tonight, I’m playing Uno with my dog LOL!” Another person suggested, “They have a waterproof Uno version, called Uno Splash, that one might last you longer. I hope you have many card game nights together!”

Commenter @ERL picked up over 12,000 likes by observing, “All the cards having teeth dents is sending me haha!” Meanwhile @Clorox asked, “Why was his strategy that good?!”

“‘These types of games’ what….what other games can he play????” wondered @Luna, a question that snagged more than 96,000 likes. Haley stayed silent, though we'd really have loved an answer.
