Pickle Tickle the Parrot Cheers Himself On With 'Good Boy' Chants
Jamie Evans

A while back, a parrot got laughs from audiences by inventing a funny little song in which he called himself a "bad boy." Now, a different bird is capturing online attention. This time it's Pickle Tickle, an Indian Ringneck Parrot, who is winning fans through positive self-talk.
Several days ago, @kiwi.kalein.crystals posted a sweet exchange between Pickle Tickle and his human parent. The on-screen text frames it as "when you don't need validation because you give it to yourself." In the clip, the Indian Ringneck offers himself encouragement, calling himself a "good boy." It's about as cute as it gets.
Pickle Tickle essentially serves as his own hype man. After all, everyone could use a few kind words aimed inward now and then.
The post caption suggests this is a regular behavior for the parrot. It reads, "Pickle Tickle the Indian Ringneck [is] being his adorable self saying, 'good boy Pickle Tickle,' proud, happy, and full of personality. [He's] the sweetest good boy ever." That sums him up well.
Beyond a big, bright personality, he has his own distinct habits. Whenever he calls himself a "good boy," this parrot adopts a confident posture and delivers the words with his whole beak. In other words, the bird means what he says.
That fits, since Indian Ringnecks are highly intelligent, much like most parrots and parakeets. They also tend to be quite talkative with their humans. In the video, Pickle Tickle and his human parent interact with ease. Many parrots are skilled at mimicking words, phrases, and songs, so Pickle Tickle's behavior is fairly typical.
How Viewers Responded to the Parrot's Self-Praise

@veggiegirl72 added, "I love hearing him say 'good boy' and his name and how you guys have a back and forth conversation!"
User @caitlin222_ voiced what many were thinking, asking, "How do you handle all that cuteness?"
People can't get enough of Pickle Tickle's positive enthusiasm. We're eager to hear what this birdie says next.
