Costco Offers a Washable Area Rug That Suits Dog-Friendly Households

Living with dogs means dealing with a certain amount of mess, even though those messes are part of what makes them endearing. Keeping a home looking presentable while pups roam around calls for choosing furniture and decor that can handle the realities of pet ownership. For anyone in the market for a new area rug suited to a household with dogs, Costco currently carries an option worth considering.

The Wyatt & Ash Washable Indoor Area Rug in the Aliyeh style fits the bill for dog-friendly homes. At seven feet 10 inches by 10 feet, it works well in a bedroom, living room, dining room or home office. Its non-skid backing helps it remain in place wherever it is positioned.

What makes this rug particularly well-suited to homes with dogs is that it can be washed. Accidents or other messes from pups can therefore be cleaned up with relative ease. Costco notes that it should only be used with front-load washing machines, and regular vacuuming is recommended for optimal results.

Shoppers have responded positively, with the rug earning an average rating of 4.4 stars on Costco.com.

"Happy I can wash it in the washing machine," one reviewer wrote in a four-star post on Costco.com. "I bought this rug because I have a dog who likes to roll around on rugs. I needed one that I could keep clean and looked nice. It is quite thin and fits (by itself) in the washing machine. I also dried it in the dryer. If you are looking for a thick, luxurious rug, this is not it, but it is perfect for what I needed."

The rug is available through Costco.com as an online-only offer priced at $149.99.
