Megatron the Cat Melts Into Morning Scratch Sessions
Riley Howard

There's a tuxedo cat named Megatron who is eight months old and has a serious fondness for the head scratches his dad gives him each morning.
A TikTok clip shows Megatron wearing an incredibly happy expression as he receives pets at the start of his day. Perched on a counter for what the video calls "Mandatory morning head scratches," he clearly cannot get enough and looks utterly at peace.
His dad has explained that Megatron was born with a cleft palate, a condition that keeps his tongue permanently protruding. In the footage, that little tongue poking out only adds to how content and cute he appears.
Viewers online have grown attached to Megatron's charming faces and pointed out how much he was enjoying the attention. One commenter quipped that these scratches "would be my number 1 reason why I would be late for work every single day without a single regret."
"Look at this face, tongue hanging out, just loving it," one user wrote in the comments, while another added, "gotta stimulate the brain cells."
"Very SLIGHT chance he enjoys it," another person joked.
More videos on his dad's page demonstrate just how much Megatron appreciates scratches and cuddles.
In a separate TikTok shared by his dad, Megatron got to soak up some sunshine while also getting his scratches. The look of satisfaction on his face during his daily scratch session was genuinely heartwarming and adorable.
Cleft Palate in Cats
PetMD notes that a cleft palate in a kitten generally forms "while a fetal kitten develops in a mother cat's uterus." This genetic condition leads to improper formation of the roof of the mouth.
Signs can include "A visible split in the upper lip or roof of the mouth" along with other issues such as nasal congestion, discharge, coughing, and trouble gaining weight.
In Megatron's case, his dad stated on his GoFundMe that the condition leaves him "unable to eat solid food."
"On his latest vet visit, they noticed that his teeth were growing into each other and needed to be extracted, which couldn't be done without fixing his jaw," Megatron's dad also revealed in the post.
His dad sought donations to cover Megatron's surgery and later confirmed that the goal was officially reached on Feb. 24.
"I want to thank everyone who donated or shared Megaton's story," he wrote in the post. "Thanks to you guys, we can afford to get his jaw fixed up!! I will post more updates once the surgery rolls around, but thank you, guys, for everything!!"
